For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son
You know, when I think about Jesus and what he did for me, I think, "wow" he must really love me. Most people can't grasp this. They can't feel his love. They can't feel his passion. They can't even feel his presence through his words when reading it. They talk about him, but they really don't know who Jesus is. Who is he? HE is GOD in the flesh, born of a virgin. He was born a human baby boy by a human woman name Mary. Luke 1:31-33, "And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a SON, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his reign there shall be no end. John 1:13,14, Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus was born for two reasons
To be a savior for the world: that is, through him the world might be saved. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Here I want you to notice that though we turned our backs on God and refused to serve him or love him, he still has a sincere love for us. We were heading for hell rightfully for disobedience, but he still loved us, and prepared a way for us to escape hell and it's tormenting eternal punishment.
What did he do? Well, when God searched the earth and could find no living human worthy enough to die for man's sin, that is to shed spotless blood, sinless and righteous, God then turned to his only Son. He wanted us to live.
Roman 5:8 says, "but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us".
God put his only Son to death to save the world. To saved the very sinners that turn their backs on him today. The saved sinners that curse him before his face this very hour. He gave the life of his Son Jesus, so that these sinners someday, before it is too late, would turn toward Jesus, accept him, become obedience and be saved through him.
Jesus gave his life willingly for us. He wasn't made to do what he did. He did it because he loved us. Because we were his creation.
John 1-3, " In the beginning was the Word (Jesus,God, Son of God), and the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word (Jesus) was God. The (same) was in the beginning with God".
What "same"? "JESUS!" Now, read verse 10, " He ( Jesus was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not".
Jesus, being equal with God, gave of himself to be born a human, because only the death of a pure human could past the qualifications required by God. If being equal worries you, then read this. When Jesus called God Father, it worried the Jews to.
John 5:18,19, "Therefore the Jews sought to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God."
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: For what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise".
Phillipians 2:5, " Let the mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Jesus loved us and "wanted" to die for us. While heading toward the cross Jesus said this.
John 12:27, " Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: BUT FOR THIS CAUSE CAME I UNTO THIS HOUR".
Jesus wanted to die for us. An old gospel hymn goes like this, "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tell me so." Again we see the tremendous loved God has for us when we continue reading in........
John 3: "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" .
Jesus was born to die for us. He is our savior...
The other reason Jesus was born is to become King of Israel. King over all 12 Christ repented tribes and king over Saved gentiles. He was born to be King over earth.
Remember Luke 1: 31-33. It says Jesus would be given the throne of his father David. David was King of Jerusalem. Jesus will rule over not only Jerusalem, but it says to his kingdom there shall be no end. One day this same Jesus and savior, in all his glory, will come back to rule all of earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
He'll do it in his own time. I believe it is near. The world is ripe for picking. Just look how less people care about Jesus. They are fearless of God. Young people see him as they are, while older people have lost their way to time and questionable "if it's true then why haven't he did some thing by now" attitude and behavior.
Pastors have fail to preach with any conviction and bear the blunt of a falling society absence of true understanding for the love of God. Many are the one's in wolves clothing needing repentance for themselves. Needing teaching to rather than being the teacher.
Yet, many are so smart and no it alls that there is nothing nobody can tell them until it is to late.
Will you trust Jesus today as your savior. He want to save you from hell. He came not only to die for your sins, but when he rose from the grave, it signified your rising to life eternal. The grave will not and cannot claim your soul. For as a Christian you can rest in the arms of Jesus. You will defeat death and hell. When you come to him, and repent, he will hear you and wash away your sins and troubled heart with his blood. He will give you a peace you never had before. Will you try him before it's too late.
