Yes, there is a hell!
The Saint and The Sinner!
Luke 16:19 - 31
"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [ The Sinner ]
And there was a certain beggar named Lasarus, which laid at his gate, full of sores, [ The Saint ]
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man died, and was buried;
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Abraham saith unto him, they have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."
What you just read is true. It is not a parable. it's a real event that actually happened. Where as, parables does not use names, though they actually happened from old testament times, this is the only incident told by Jesus using real names. There was indeed a man named Lazarus. No, not the Lazarus which Jesus brought back from the dead, but a beggar named Lazarus.
As the reading goes, Lazarus was a very poor man. He had no food to eat. Lazarus probably didn't have many friends, since people ofttimes shunned him from the way he looked. A lot of people feel as the rich man does, because this person or that person is not on my level, or they may be alcoholics, druggist, lack of education, and the list goes on. Folks of so-called proud natured tend not to want to associate with those of a lesser class. Yet, they still attend Church and pretend to be Christians. They hold many positions in Church, do many programs, pay big time tithes, and at Church every Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. They do this to be seen, it makes them feel like the proud persons they are.
Having Jesus and the love of their neighbor in their heart is for them and those in their own inner circle. Yet, ignorantly, they think they are serving God. If only they would pick up the Bible and study God's word from time to time, then they would know the truth. When they know the truth, knowledge begins to increase, and eyes begin to open to the truth. John 8:32, says "Ye shall no the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The truth will reveal to them, and probably you too, that they are hypocrites. They are Self-righteous sinners on their way to hell because of one thing,- they lacked the true love which comes from serving and knowing the WILL of God. This true knowledge, which comes through Jesus, will cause you to love all men no matter their color or status in life.
I want to stop right here to insert this little piece. You know when you accept Jesus as your personal savior, there's also a transforming in your life. Yes, there must be a great change from the worldly things you use to do that's not acceptable to God anymore. Here's a list of things you must not continue to do. Continuing to do them will definitely get you into hell. Also you'll see that a lot of so-called Christians in the Church are still doing these things too. But, if the shoe fits, you must wear it! I'll come back to Lazarus later.
Now the things that God hates. There's more, but these will get you thinking. Galatians 5:19, "Now the works of the flesh [wrong things you're doing] are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulation, wrath, strife, sedition, heresies, (21) Envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such likes: (This is me now. Here's the big kicker. Listen to what Paul says now.) "Of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in the past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God." You know, when I read this, it makes me think. Man! the Church is full of this stuff. What are they teaching? The answer. Not much.
BACK TO OUR LASARUS
I believe the rich man possessed one or more of these sinful acts. He's the faithful Church goer who thinks he's better than someone else. Especially, a dirty old filthy sore ridden somebody like Lazarus, who's always hanging around begging. False love causes the rich man to ignore Lazarus. He has no humility just like many today. - I am reminded of Jesus washing the deciples feet's. We find humility in John 13th chapter when Jesus suddenly without prior warning to the deciples, began to washed their dirty feet's. Jesus did what even the Hebrew slaves wouldn't do unless made, and this was to wash somebody's feet. Jesus became lower than a slave. Humility shows us that we are no better than the most lowest meaning we must care for those whom others turn their nose up at, and give the gospel to them.
Even we ourselves must suffer humiliation when people will say bad things about us, and do bad things to us. This was shown by Jesus suffering on the cross and the shame and humiliation he faced that he told Peter he would understand later. In verse 8 Jesus told Peter that If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me." This mean that the blood sheddeth by Jesus, washes our sins away of all those who believe. This washing of the blood bring upon us the Holy Spirit and automatically make us a loving and caring person for all men. If our life are not changed by this washing then we cannot enter Heaven. We will not have no part with Jesus. This, the rich man, failed to understand just as many who attend Church does today.
But look at Lazarus. Though he may be down and out, without education, Job, food, friends, or medicine, he has one thing that the rich man's money can't buy. That's God love and mercy! It's a relationship with God that guaranteed his salvation. Lazarus held fast in his belief in God no matter how tough times got. He didn't complain or groan, but continually said "thank you God," for the little I do have.
Now at some different times they both died. But look what happened. Lazarus the poor old seemingly nobody is now resting in the arms of Abraham. He made it to paradise where he is now contented, with no worry of any sort. But the rich man who thought he was number one in God's sight, found himself in hell. This is going to be the fate of many Church goers if they do not get back to "Bible Basic." Their reward will be hell also.
Anyway, the rich man is now suffering. But first, notice that there is a gulf which separate God's chosen from the unbelievers or sinners. Some false churches teach that we all will go to Heaven. Some teaches that there is no hell. Here we clearly see that there are places for both the good and faithful and the bad.
I know what you're thinking. What is this Paradise and Abraham? What happen to Heaven? What is all this gulf stuff? Where is Jesus?
Hold it! Let me explain. You see, it has always been told or prophesied from the beginning from Adam and through the prophets that a savior would come to save the people. Jesus is that savior. He fulfilled all the writing of old testament scripture, especially Isaiah 53 which perfectly describes his life and death. Jesus was taken, falsely accuse, crucified, buried, went down into the earth, 1 Peter 4:6, preached to the dead, and led captivity captive, Ephesians 4:8.
You see, before Jesus, when we died we did not go directly to heaven, but in a place call sheol, which was split into two parts. One part for the righteous call Paradise, and the other for the sinner called Hell. Oh, there were a few righteous men who did make it to Heaven. Enoch, Moses, Elijah. But the rest went into Paradise where they were comforted with others. Jesus went to paradise and did something for us. He took paradise and carried it to heaven with him, but left hell in the earth where it remains to this very day. In Acts 2:27, David said, "thou will not leave my soul in hell," referring to Jesus coming to rescue him and all other saints down there. Any more Questions you have to write me.
LET US CONTINUE......
For the first time in his life the rich man was really feeling pain and torment. He couldn't find rest. He was frighten and continually bothered by something we smart guys don't know about, and I ain't about to go there to find out! So the rich man began to call out to Abraham for help. Look at this! Now they shout to God for help. But it's too late. It's too late to wait until you get to hell to be a believer. Everyone in hell is a believer, but it's too late. No one, I repeat! No one except Jesus has ever went in that place and came back to talk about it. No, not even those book writers who claim they went to hell have went there. Once you're there, that's it. No coming out until judgement time. The second death, Revelation 20.
The rich man knew this place called hell was real. He knew it for a fact. He also knew that many people make jokes about hell. He knew they didn't believe in it, because if they did they would change and serve God. He even tried to get Abraham to send Lazarus back on earth to warn his brothers.
But Abraham told him this, and this message apply to you and me. Abraham said, "they have the same chances as you had, to hear the gospel." There are preachers preaching the message Jesus brought, constantly everyday all over the world. We all have chances through God's grace and mercy to hear it. Like Abraham said, "folks are so far gone that don't even believe the living. No way they're going to believe anyone who say they came back from hell.
My friends, hell is real. It's there for one purpose. At first, it was just for Satan and his demons. But now, since so many have chosen the life to serve Satan, then it is only fair to say that where the father is going, shouldn't his children's go with him.
But friends, there is a way to escape hell and it's everlasting torment.
Do this! Open your Bible to Roman 10:9 and read what you see there. For those who don't have a Bible, I'll write it for you.
Now if you are tired of the life you are living, tired of drugs, smoking, alcohol or anything you may be feeling bad aboutin your life. When you accept Jesus as your personal savior and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, Then God will send His Spirit into you and forgive you of every sin or bad thing you ever did in your life. With God it's like having a brand new life. This is what they call "born again." It doesn't matter to God what kind of person you are or what you did in your pass life, he will forgive you. The reason being, God loves you better than anyone else in this world could. He wait to hear from you. All you have to do is be ready to give up a life that means death to you, and accept a life that means life for you.
You must be sincere when you repent. If you have intentions of going back into your worldly life, then don't take what I call the "sinner's Prayer" foolishly. But if you want him to come into your life and clean you up, make you a new person for real, then read this verse and mean it.
Roman 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Now repeat after me. "Father God, I'm sorry for the sins I've committed against you. Please forgive me and accept me. I believe that Jesus IS your Son and that you DID raised him from the dead and he now sit at your right hand as my "Mediator" in Heaven. In Jesus name I pray. Amen."
That's all it takes for God to rush his Spirit into you. If you are really sorry for your sins, then he has come. "Rejoice" and say thank you Jesus.
But don't get too carried away. Sins forgiven does make you a Christian. It just give you a fresh start or a new lease on life. Becoming a Christian is based on what you decide to do from then on. You can either follow Jesus through much study to enlighten your life to endure to the end or you can learn a little and fall back into the world at which time new sins are upon you once more.
You are no longer saved because you once again lived against the way God wanted you to live and carry yourself. If you went back into the world there is some things to consider. That is, either you was not sincere at your repentant and became a pretender for a short while or you was sincere, like getting married and getting a divorce. You really thought you had love for God or the other person, now you're back on the market or back in the world.
Repentant is not a back and forth thing. Don't play God for a fool like so many think they're doing. You can only cry wolf so many times. Last minute death bed repentant won't work. No such thing as once saved always saved. Better make sure you are saved by repenting and following it through to the end than relying on some demon trickster who tell you no matter what you do you're still saved. This doesn't make any sense any way. For example, kill as many people as you want to and still go to heaven. Yea, Right!
Repenting is not that easy, as you see by most people of today. But it can be if you want it to be and this come with a lot of changing and learning. Don't do it unless you are really ready or you are wasting your time and fooling yourself.
I hope you're ready
